Mechatronics

Tasks and activities
Mechatronic engineers process materials manually and with machines and assemble mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical and electronic components into mechatronic systems. They assemble the components and system components, put the systems into operation and operate them. The tasks of a mechatronic engineer include measuring and checking the systems and components. They may also program production systems and maintain these systems or system components.

They work with the producers, clients and operators of mechatronic systems – for example in systems engineering – and the chemical and automobile industries while working in various locations, mainly on assembly sites, in workshops or in service.

An overview of the training
Mechatronic engineer is a recognized profession that requires training consistent with German law as it pertains to professional training (BBiG). It is not assigned to a specific vocational field.
