Whether electrical power supplies, industrial operational systems or modern building systems and automation technologies – electrical engineers for operational engineering take care of the proper installation and maintenance of the electrical systems. When a building or plant is set up or converted, you create the designs for changes and extensions.
You install wiring systems, energy and information lines as well as the electrical equipment of machines with the appropriate automation systems. Also, you organize the assembly of systems and monitor the work of utility companies, service providers and other maintenance groups. Moreover, electrical engineers for operational engineering assemble control and automation devices and wire them. You program and configure systems, check their function and safety installations. Finally, you deliver the systems and instruct users about their operation.
Monitoring and regular maintenance of high-voltage current systems, detection systems and communication systems as well as measuring and control technology systems are among your tasks, as are the analysis of operational faults and repairs of systems. You also consult your clients as part of the service. You fulfill your tasks while observing the applicable regulations and safety regulations while coordinating your work with preliminary and downstream divisions. You have specialist training as an electrical engineer with respect to accident prevention.
Electrical engineers for operational engineering can work wherever fabrication and operational systems are used and set up and maintained. It can be in power plants, chemical and processing plants, mining companies and all sectors of the manufacturing industry. They work in production shops and in customer service in all sorts of locations, at times outdoors.
